I got a call from my Mom a few weeks ago telling me that my sister was really sick. They live in Virginia, and I’m out here in Memphis, Tennessee. She told me I really needed to come see her. I was out late the other night drinking with my girlfriends.  We left Alex’s Tavern in Memphis at 2:00 a.m.  We all had separate cars and after we said goodnight we headed off in our own directions.  I had quite a few drinks, probably more than I should have, but I didn’t think I was too impaired to drive.  I looked in my rearview mirror and saw police lights.  I was being pulled over.  I really thought I was driving fine but the cop said I was swerving all over the place.  He made me get out of the car and take a breathalyzer test.  He suspected I was drinking and he was right.  I was over the legal limit and he arrested me.  I spent the night in jail.  This was not the first D.U.I. I’d ever had.  I knew I would have to get a lawyer and pay a lot of court fees.  I didn’t know where I could find some fast cash.
